Bird & Bat surveys

Alluvion staff has experience conducting pre-construction bird surveys and on-site project monitoring for special status species in compliance with the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Our staff has extensive experience with avian species protection pertaining to large and small-scale construction projects. We can obtain or assist in obtaining special take permits and other permitting applications related to bird species protection.

Marine Mammal Monitoring

Alluvion employs certified marine mammal monitors to assist with large-scale construction projects in estuaries or coastal habitats. Our monitors are adept at identifying and characterizing behavior for a wide range of Pacific coast pinnipeds and cetaceans.

Fish Protection and Relocation

Alluvion’s biologists are skilled at meeting the needs of projects that could potentially impact fish and their habitat. We provide fish population estimates, habitat inventory and assessment, age/growth data, biotelemetry and fish diversion/relocation services.

Aquatic Habitat characterization

Alluvion’s diverse and multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive habitat characterization services. Our staff uses GIS/GPS to map existing habitat distributions and provide bird, amphibian, reptile, and macroinvertebrate surveys to provide a complete biological picture.

Plant Surveys

Alluvion staff is experienced in conducting rare plant surveys in the Sierra-Nevada and San Francisco Bay Area. Our staff produce accurate terrestrial and estuarine plant community maps by conducted field surveys using Arc GIS/GPS equipment and techniques.

Reptiles and Amphibians

Alluvion staff has experience conducting population and habitat assessment surveys for California red-legged frogs, foothill yellow-legged frogs, California tiger salamanders and western pond turtles throughout California.
